Tobacco & Vaping

16.6% of Maine High School students report that they have smoked a cigarette.

Tobacco & Vaping

Tobacco products include cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, water pipes (hookahs), snuff, chewing tobacco, electronic cigarettes (E-cigarettes), and vaping devices. The use of tobacco products involves smoking, dipping, and chewing. Zyns–oral nicotine pouches–are becoming common among youth since they are easy to share and hard to detect.

Smoking or vaping nicotine has adverse effects on youth mental and physical health. Vaping is a fast growing trend among youth.
